Processing times over the Christmas / New Year Period

Please note more time is required to process licence applications over the Christmas / New Year period. This is because working days include the period 20 December and 15 January under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.

Please ensure you get your renewal application in as soon as possible if your renewal is due between this period. You can continue to work even if your certificate isn’t renewed in time as long as the renewal application has been submitted and paid for. Please expect delays through December 2023 and January 2024.


Please note the application should be filed with the District Licensing Committee for the district in which the applicant is employed. If you are not currently employed in the hospitality industry please contact the Licensing Inspector (06 835-7579) before completing this form.
